Book II, “Rush To Judgment!” – Excerpt – Text: Mark 9:14-29.

Read Mark 9:14-29

A “rush to judgment” – guess what!   We all are guilty of a “rush to judgment”!

In some cases, judgment is an easy call – it’s very clear.  In some cases, judgment is a difficult call – it hangs between values and circumstances.  And, in some cases, judgment is a solid call – dependent on hard evidence that makes the outcome favorable or unfavorable.

  • Judgment is a final authoritative opinion.
  • Judgment is based on a process of decisions around circumstances and acts.
  • Judgment takes into account times and events.
  • Judgment considers capacity and other resources.
  • Judgment is the evidence of construction or destruction.

Most of all, judgment depends upon the outcome of choices or decisions made leading to a finished product, activity or lifestyle.  What is the rationale about judgment?  Judgment calls are made in our lives every day from the time we’re infants to our senior years.  We all make judgment calls.
